Entry-Level Architectural Designer
Location: Downtown Houston, Texas

Job Overview
Huitt-Zollars is looking for a motivated and creative Entry-Level Architectural Designer to join its Downtown Houston team. This position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience across different stages of architectural projects, including conceptual design, documentation, and construction administration.
The successful candidate will work alongside architects, interior designers, project managers, and company leadership. The role combines creative design support with technical production and offers opportunities to strengthen professional, design, and project delivery skills.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Creative Support
Assist with conceptual design, programming, space planning, and architectural detailing.
Prepare design studies, renderings, graphics, and other materials used to communicate project concepts.
Help develop finish selections, material boards, furniture layouts, and presentation materials.
Project Delivery
Support several projects at different phases while helping teams produce coordinated design and construction documentation.
Create and revise architectural drawings and models in Revit under appropriate supervision.
Assist with specifications, meeting documentation, agency submissions, and other project records.
Participate in site visits and help document field conditions and observations.
Provide support during construction administration, including tracking, logging, and routing RFIs and submittals.
Collaboration and Development
Work collaboratively with professionals from architecture, interior design, and engineering disciplines.
Take part in project meetings and contribute to a respectful, inclusive, and productive team environment.
Seek guidance and feedback while continuously developing technical and creative capabilities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Interior Design, or Interior Architecture from an accredited institution.
Basic working knowledge of Revit and Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to interpret redlines and accurately incorporate revisions into drawings and models.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and visualization applications such as Enscape or Lumion is an advantage.

Physical Requirements
Ability to spend extended periods working at a computer and desk.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when required.
