About the Role

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Finance Assistant will support branch-level financial operations, including credit control reporting, debtor reconciliation, receipting, banking processes, and petty cash management.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation and adherence to the company’s credit control policies.

• Prepare and distribute monthly commission and debtor statements, while responding to and resolving queries from intermediaries regarding outstanding balances.

• Issue payment reminders to ensure timely settlement of debts and follow up with relevant intermediaries.

• Escalate unrecovered debts to debt collection agencies and manage cases involving legal proceedings and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) referrals where necessary.

• Support the collection of monthly premiums and ensure consistent follow-up on outstanding payments.

• Track long-outstanding debts and assess clients’ ability to settle balances where applicable.

• Follow up on bounced cheques, contact clients for replacements, and prepare monthly reports on such cases.

• Verify remittances (RTGS, EFT, IPF) and ensure receipting is completed within 24 hours.

• Monitor daily receipting and banking of all collected premiums.

• Conduct visits and follow-up calls to intermediaries to support collections and reconciliations, and prepare weekly reports.

Who We’re Looking For

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.

• Progress towards CPA, ACCA, or a Certificate in Credit Control Management.

• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant professional experience.
