Key Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accurate accounting transactions in the organization's financial system.

• Scan, organize, and upload financial documents for proper electronic and physical record management.

• Assist in processing supplier payments and ensure remittance advice is sent promptly to vendors.

• Monitor and update daily cash flow reports to support effective financial management.

• Facilitate the processing and payment of COE and C17 transactions in accordance with company procedures.

• Manage petty cash and cash float balances while performing regular reconciliations to ensure accountability.

• Support the preparation and completion of bank reconciliations.

• Process daily banking transactions and record them in the CargoWise (CW1) system.

• Perform monthly reconciliation of M-Pesa accounts to ensure transaction accuracy.

• Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

• Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized records of all cash receipts and payments.

• Ensure financial transactions are correctly allocated to the appropriate accounts and verify that foreign exchange gains or losses receive the necessary approvals before posting.

• Record petty cash vouchers promptly and accurately within the accounting system.

• Contribute to cash flow forecasting and financial planning activities.

• Reconcile control accounts with the general ledger on a regular basis to maintain the accuracy of financial records.

• File and archive cash-related documentation in both physical files and the electronic document management system (EDocs) within CargoWise.

• Perform any additional finance or accounting duties assigned by management.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess:

• A bachelor's degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar accounting or finance position.

• Good computer literacy and proficiency in common business software applications.

• Working knowledge of the CargoWise (CW1) ERP system or similar financial management software.

• Previous experience in the logistics or freight forwarding industry will be considered an added advantage.

• CPA Part II certification or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
