Financial Controller
Position Overview
Trident Group of Companies is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Controller to provide senior oversight of accounting operations, statutory compliance, internal controls, and financial reporting across the group. The role will serve as a key finance leader, working closely with executive management and business unit heads to maintain strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and consistent accounting standards across all group entities.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes across the various group entities.
Prepare and coordinate consolidated group financial statements in accordance with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements.
Establish, implement, and continuously monitor internal financial controls to protect company assets, minimise financial risks, and prevent revenue leakage.
Ensure timely preparation and submission of Corporate Income Tax, VAT, WHT/WHVAT, payroll deductions, and other statutory obligations.
Coordinate internal and external statutory audits and ensure audit queries are addressed and resolved within the required timelines.
Lead, supervise, mentor, and develop the accounting team to strengthen technical capability and overall performance.
Work closely with executive leadership and business unit managers on financial reporting, accounting matters, and financial governance.
Ensure consistent accounting practices and financial controls are maintained across all group entities.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
Active professional accounting qualification such as CPA(K), ACCA, CA, or an equivalent certification.
Must be in good standing with ICPAK or the applicable national accountancy regulatory body.
At least 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including a minimum of 3–4 years in a senior finance leadership position such as Financial Controller or Finance Manager.
Demonstrated experience working within a multi-entity organisation, manufacturing environment, commercial group, or similar business structure.
Strong understanding of financial reporting, statutory compliance, internal controls, and group accounting processes.
