Job Summary
The Food and Beverage Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the team to deliver efficient service and ensure guest needs are consistently addressed. The role involves supervising staff, maintaining service and cleanliness standards, monitoring supplies, supporting daily operations, and assisting management with team development.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate staff activities to promote teamwork, efficient service, and positive guest experiences.
Check employees’ grooming and uniforms and address any standards that are not met.
Carry out opening and closing procedures, including preparing required supplies and equipment, cleaning work areas and equipment, and securing doors and facilities.
Inspect storage areas to ensure they are clean, organized, and operated according to FIFO principles.
Conduct scheduled stock counts and arrange requisitions for required supplies.
Monitor dining areas for seating availability, service standards, guest safety, and overall guest wellbeing.
Submit and follow up on work orders relating to maintenance and repairs.
Support management with recruitment, training, scheduling, performance reviews, counseling, disciplinary procedures, motivation, and employee coaching.
Act as a role model and the initial point of contact for matters relating to the Guarantee of Fair Treatment/Open Door Policy.
Comply with company policies, safety requirements, and security procedures.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe working conditions to management.
Complete required safety training and certifications.
Maintain a clean and professional appearance and ensure uniforms meet company standards.
Protect confidential company information and safeguard organizational assets.
Welcome and acknowledge guests in accordance with company standards.
Anticipate guest requirements, respond to service requests, and provide appropriate assistance to guests with disabilities.
Show genuine appreciation to guests and contribute to a welcoming environment.
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests, colleagues, and other team members.
Build positive working relationships and support colleagues in achieving shared objectives.
Listen to employees’ concerns and respond to them appropriately.
Ensure established quality and service standards are consistently followed.
Identify and recommend improvements that can enhance efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and cost management.
Read and verify information presented in different formats, including small print.
Visually examine tools, equipment, and machinery to identify potential defects or problems.
Remain standing, seated, or walking for extended periods, including throughout an entire shift.
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Handle and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights while using fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Work safely in narrow, confined, or elevated areas.
Navigate stairs and service ramps as required.
Reach overhead and below the knees and perform duties involving bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Perform other reasonable duties assigned by Supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: Minimum 2 years.
Supervisory Experience: Minimum 1 year.
License or Certification: None required.
