Position Overview
As a Runner, you will help ensure the hotel operates smoothly by making sure guests and colleagues receive the items and support they need at the right time. This role involves working across different areas of the property and assisting departments such as housekeeping, engineering, banquets, restaurants, front office and other operational teams.
You may be required to deliver requested items directly to guest rooms or provide practical support wherever it is needed. Your contribution will be important in keeping daily hotel operations efficient and ensuring guests receive a positive and memorable experience.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations
Support various hotel departments by delivering items, supplies and other requested materials promptly.
Respond to guest and associate needs while maintaining a helpful and service-focused approach.
Assist housekeeping, engineering, banquet operations, restaurants, front office and other areas as required.
Follow all company policies, procedures and operational standards at all times.
Contribute to maintaining a safe workplace for guests, colleagues and yourself.
Protect confidential information and handle guest-related matters appropriately.
Maintain the required standards for service quality and operational performance.
Present yourself professionally through appropriate personal grooming, uniform standards and communication.
Remain active throughout the working day, including extended periods of standing, walking and moving between different hotel areas.
Navigate narrow, confined or elevated spaces, stairs and service ramps when necessary.
Read and verify information presented in different formats, including small print.
Visually inspect tools, equipment and machinery before or during use as required.
Safely move, lift, carry, push and pull objects weighing up to 55 pounds (approximately 25 kg) without assistance.
Perform tasks involving reaching above the head or below the knees, as well as bending, twisting, pulling and stooping.
Carry out other reasonable responsibilities assigned in support of hotel operations.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent qualification.
Relevant Experience: Previous work experience is not required.
Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
License/Certification: None required.
