Graphic Production Designer
Location: Indianapolis, Indiana
Position Overview
The Graphic Production Designer is responsible for translating brand design direction into polished presentation and production-ready artwork. This position ensures that graphics, embellishments, and material treatments meet established design standards while maintaining consistency and accuracy across all versions of artwork.
The role supports apparel and headwear projects by preparing accurate production files, coordinating revisions, meeting established service-level deadlines, and ensuring artwork is delivered correctly throughout the approval and licensing process.
Key Responsibilities
Produce basic line artwork and color CADs for apparel and headwear to support both internal teams and external partners.
Develop accurate production packages for apparel and headwear projects.
Prepare placement information for additional garment silhouettes when required.
Create manufacturing documentation needed to complete graphics that do not use traditional screen-print processes.
Ensure artwork meets manufacturing requirements, adidas standards, quality expectations, and applicable team or league specifications.
Work closely with design, marketing, product development, and other stakeholders to understand and execute the required visual direction.
Coordinate with other internal business functions to complete supporting deliverables, including trims, garment symbols, identity assurance materials, collateral, digital imagery, and related assets.
Route artwork through established proofing and approval procedures.
Prepare licensing-ready files according to the specific requirements of each applicable league or organization.
Track art-review milestones, follow league requirements, and complete requested revisions within established SLAs.
Submit final licensing materials in accordance with league guidelines and required timelines.
Take ownership of assigned projects and monitor progress to ensure every milestone is completed within the agreed service levels.
Ensure completed artwork is properly distributed to the appropriate locations and stakeholders.
Update AEM with detailed timeline information to document project iterations and progress.
Consistently meet required deadlines for projects, revisions, approvals, and submissions.
Conduct research and carefully proofread artwork before delivery.
Consult with art leads whenever additional direction or clarification is necessary.
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Intermediate proficiency using the Mac platform.
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.
General working knowledge of typography, Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, and InDesign.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to use Excel to compare, reconcile, and validate information.
Knowledge of screen-print production is advantageous, with preference given to candidates who have relevant experience.
Ability to understand and interpret technical procedures and written instructions.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare professional business correspondence.
Strong work ethic and willingness to learn quickly in a high-volume, fast-moving environment.
Exceptional attention to accuracy, quality, and detail.
Capable of working independently with limited supervision.
Able to organize competing priorities and manage several assignments or activities at the same time.
