Restaurant Reception Supervisor – SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences is a luxury five-star lifestyle property operated by Ennismore as part of the wider Accor group. Located in Downtown Dubai, the hotel is a distinctive landmark designed by award-winning architect and interior designer Paul Bishop.
The property features 946 units across 75 floors, including 254 individually designed hotel rooms, 321 hotel apartments and 371 branded residences.
Job Responsibilities
Oversee the efficient running of each reception and reservation shift.
Identify and maximize opportunities to increase revenue.
Maintain a consistently high level of guest satisfaction and strive to exceed expectations.
Build and lead a motivated, high-performing team focused on achieving clear departmental objectives.
Maintain professional, open and positive working relationships with colleagues across the operation.
Take responsibility for the restaurant’s customer relationship management initiatives.
Deliver both on-the-job and formal training to members of the reception team.
Maintain a professional and well-groomed appearance while working on the floor.
Assist with the implementation of the menu rollout schedule.
Ensure correspondence and related administrative work are completed accurately and on time.
Prepare staff schedules according to business demands to improve productivity while controlling payroll expenses.
Identify staffing requirements proactively and participate in recruitment and candidate selection.
Establish clear and accessible filing systems for departmental records.
Work with the General Manager to establish and maintain a training calendar.
Ensure staff appraisals are conducted consistently and effectively.
Recognize training, development and career growth opportunities within the department.
Ensure every team member receives, understands and acknowledges their job description.
Keep personal knowledge and that of colleagues up to date regarding relevant operational systems.
Maintain departmental standards relating to performance, service and professional presentation.
Encourage positive change, challenge outdated practices and introduce improved ways of working.
Promote a culture of accountability, pride and ownership within the team.
Review each shift and ensure proper handovers and team briefings are completed.
Coordinate closely with the kitchen and restaurant teams to provide seamless service to guests.
Performance Standards – Customer Service
Ensure guest requests, questions and complaints are followed up and addressed within 24 hours.
Ensure team members demonstrate a clear understanding of guest expectations through completion of the required skills and standards programme.
Build a strong working knowledge of the restaurant's food, wine and menu offerings.
Support the Manager by remaining adaptable and cooperative in achieving departmental and restaurant objectives.
Personal Attributes and Skills
Demonstrated leadership capability.
Excellent spoken and written English, with strong reading and communication skills.
Maintain a polished, professional appearance and grooming standards at all times.
Strong interpersonal abilities and the capacity to establish positive relationships with guests.
Thorough understanding of the restaurant's seating and table layout.
Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
Graduate in Hotel or Restaurant Management.
Experience
At least 1 year of experience working in a hotel or restaurant environment, specifically within Food & Beverage.
