Hostess / Waitress

Position Overview

We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Hostess/Waitress to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in Mombasa County, Kenya. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming dining experience by greeting guests, coordinating seating arrangements, supporting food and beverage service, and ensuring every customer receives exceptional hospitality from arrival to departure.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and provide a friendly, professional first impression.

• Manage table reservations and coordinate seating arrangements to ensure efficient use of dining space.

• Escort guests to their tables and assist them with menus while answering questions about food and beverage offerings.

• Recommend menu items based on customer preferences and provide accurate information regarding ingredients and preparation methods.

• Deliver outstanding customer service by responding promptly to guest requests, feedback, and concerns.

• Work closely with kitchen and service teams to ensure timely preparation and delivery of food and beverages.

• Monitor the dining area to maintain cleanliness, organization, and a comfortable atmosphere for guests.

• Support smooth restaurant operations by assisting colleagues whenever required.

• Ensure guests enjoy a positive dining experience and address any service issues professionally and efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience.

• Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to interact confidently with guests and team members.

• Previous knowledge or experience in food and beverage service, restaurant operations, or hospitality is highly desirable.

• Basic understanding of food preparation and cooking techniques is an added advantage and will support effective menu recommendations.

• Positive attitude, professional appearance, and the ability to perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Previous experience in hospitality, food service, or a similar customer-facing role is beneficial but not a mandatory requirement.
