Job Summary
The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the smooth operation of the Housekeeping Department by inspecting cleaned rooms and public areas, monitoring room statuses, coordinating cleaning priorities, and ensuring established quality standards are met. The role also works closely with Front Office, Engineering, Laundry, and Housekeeping management to maintain efficient daily operations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect guest rooms, public spaces, pool areas, and other assigned locations after cleaning to confirm they meet required quality standards.
Review sold-room reports, check room statuses, identify discrepancies, prioritize cleaning requirements, and update departing-room statuses.
Assist Housekeeping management with the coordination of daily departmental activities.
Coordinate Housekeeping operations with Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
Record and resolve room-status discrepancies in collaboration with the Front Desk.
Prepare, communicate, and distribute changes to room assignments.
Brief the incoming shift on unresolved matters and operational issues.
Complete all required departmental paperwork and documentation.
Support management with recruitment, employee training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, disciplinary processes, motivation, and coaching.
Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, and injuries as required.
Complete mandatory safety training and certifications.
Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and uniform.
Protect confidential company information and safeguard company property and assets.
Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards.
Anticipate guest needs, respond appropriately to service requests, and assist guests with disabilities.
Thank guests sincerely and contribute to a positive guest experience.
Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and colleagues.
Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
Ensure housekeeping activities consistently meet established quality expectations and standards.
Lift, carry, move, and position items weighing up to 55 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance.
Push and pull loaded housekeeping carts and other work equipment across sloped and uneven surfaces.
Perform physical activities involving reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for extended periods throughout the work shift.
Handle and manipulate objects of different sizes and weights while demonstrating appropriate fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
Use computers and/or point-of-sale systems to enter and retrieve work-related information.
Read and verify information displayed in different formats, including small print.
Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by Supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
Related Work Experience: At least 1 year.
Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year.
License or Certification: None required.
