Human Resources Officer

This is a dynamic HR role that goes beyond traditional human resource administration. You will have an opportunity to influence how HR services are delivered across branches, support HR digitisation, improve employee experience, strengthen compliance, and contribute to the development of scalable people processes that support business growth.
The role is suited to an HR professional who is organised, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. You will provide responsive HR support to field teams across the country while helping ensure that employees and managers receive a high standard of service.
What You'll Be Doing
As part of the People & Culture team, you will play an important role in supporting employees, managers, and HR operations across the business.
Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Employee Experience
You will help champion an exceptional employee experience across the organisation.
This will involve supporting initiatives and processes that make the employee experience more effective and positive. You will work with employees and managers to ensure that HR support is responsive, professional, and focused on meeting their needs.
The role will require you to build trust with employees and managers while maintaining a high level of professionalism in your day-to-day interactions.
2. Employee Relations
You will be responsible for managing employee relations cases with professionalism and confidence.
This includes providing appropriate HR support when employee relations matters arise and ensuring that such cases are handled in a professional manner.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills will be important in this area, as you will interact with employees and managers while helping address workplace matters.
3. HR Digitisation
A key part of the role will be supporting HR digitisation through PeopleHum and process automation.
You will contribute to improving the way HR services and processes are delivered by making better use of technology. This includes supporting the use of HRIS platforms and helping improve processes through technology.
The role provides an opportunity to contribute to HR transformation by supporting more efficient and scalable people processes.
4. Attendance and Leave Management
You will support attendance and leave management processes across the organisation.
This will include helping maintain appropriate HR processes around attendance and leave while supporting HR compliance requirements.
Accuracy and attention to detail will be important when handling employee information and people-related processes.
5. HR Compliance
You will support efforts to ensure that HR practices remain compliant with Kenyan labour legislation and HR best practice.
This responsibility requires an understanding of Kenyan labour laws and the ability to apply HR best practices in day-to-day operations.
You will contribute to strengthening compliance across HR processes and helping ensure that the organisation maintains appropriate people practices.
6. Employee Records and People Data
Maintaining accurate employee records and people data will be an important part of the role.
You will help ensure that employee information is properly maintained and that HR records remain accurate and up to date.
Good organisational skills and attention to detail will be essential when managing employee records and people data.
7. HR Support for Field Teams
The role will provide responsive HR support to field teams across the country.
You will work to ensure that employees and managers in different locations can access the HR support they need. This requires good communication, responsiveness, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced organisation.
You will also help maintain a consistent employee experience across the business by providing reliable HR support to teams in different branches.
8. HR Reporting and Insights
You will be responsible for producing meaningful HR reports and insights that can influence business decisions.
The role will involve working with people data and HR information to provide useful insights to the wider business.
Accurate HR reporting will support better understanding of people-related matters and help inform business decisions.
We're Looking For Someone Who...
The ideal candidate should meet the following requirements:
At least 2 years of HR experience in a fast-paced organisation.
A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Active membership of IHRM.
Experience using HRIS platforms.
An interest in improving HR processes through technology.
A good understanding of Kenyan labour laws.
Knowledge of HR best practice.
Strong organisational skills.
A proactive approach to work.
Excellent attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills.
The ability to build trust easily.
A strong commitment to delivering excellent service to employees and managers.
Skills and Personal Qualities
This role requires someone who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
You should be organised and proactive, with a strong focus on delivering quality HR support. Attention to detail will be important when managing employee records, HR processes, attendance, leave, compliance, and people data.
