Position Summary
We are seeking a creative and customer-focused Interior Designer with strong sales and relationship management capabilities to join the Classic Mouldings showroom team. The successful candidate will provide professional design guidance, technical product advice, and sales support to clients seeking premium decorative mouldings, wall finishes, and architectural enhancement solutions. This role requires a balance of design expertise, commercial awareness, and exceptional customer service skills.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory and Sales
Welcome and assist both walk-in visitors and scheduled clients in the showroom.
Assess client requirements, project objectives, design preferences, and budget considerations.
Recommend suitable decorative products, mouldings, finishes, and architectural solutions based on project needs.
Drive product sales by presenting solutions effectively and converting inquiries into successful transactions.
Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with homeowners, architects, interior designers, contractors, and other industry stakeholders.
Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales journey, from initial consultation to post-sale support.
Design and Technical Consultation
Interpret architectural plans, interior design drawings, and technical specifications accurately.
Convert design concepts and drawings into detailed material recommendations and finish schedules.
Prepare basic design concepts, layout proposals, mood boards, and visual presentations to support client decision-making.
Offer professional guidance on product applications, installation requirements, and technical suitability for various projects.
Stay informed about design trends, materials, and industry best practices to provide informed recommendations.
Documentation and Project Coordination
Prepare supporting design documentation, drawings, product schedules, and presentation materials.
Assist in the preparation and review of quotations, specifications, and project-related documentation.
Maintain accurate records of client consultations, project briefs, approvals, and communications.
Coordinate closely with the sales team, quantity surveyors, stores personnel, and other departments to ensure seamless project execution.
Follow up on quotations, design revisions, customer inquiries, and after-sales service requirements to maintain high client satisfaction levels.
Qualifications and Experience
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Between two and five years of relevant experience in interior design, architectural finishes, decorative products, or related fields.
Demonstrated experience advising clients on material selection, finishes, space aesthetics, and design solutions.
Previous showroom, retail design, or customer-facing experience will be an added advantage.
Comfortable working within a sales-oriented environment and achieving individual or team performance targets.
Proficiency in design software and presentation tools will be beneficial.
