Job Overview
We are looking for a skilled Drupal Developer with 3 to 4 years of experience in creating, customizing, and maintaining Drupal-based websites and web applications.
The right person should have a solid background in Drupal 10 and Drupal 11, including custom module development, theme development, API integrations, configuration management, security, and performance optimization.The role involves building scalable, secure, and high-performing web solutions while working closely with different teams during the entire software development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, modify, and maintain websites and web applications using Drupal 10 and Drupal 11.
- Design and develop custom modules that meet business and technical needs.
- Create and customize themes using Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive design techniques.
- Set up and manage content types, fields, views, taxonomies, menus, blocks, workflows, media, and user roles.
- Implement Drupal hooks, plugins, services, controllers, forms, entities, events, and dependency injection.
- Integrate Drupal with external applications via REST APIs, JSON:API, SOAP, and other web services.
- Develop and maintain secure APIs and integration points.
- Keep Drupal core, modules, and security up to date, and handle version upgrades.
- Support migration projects from older Drupal versions or other CMS platforms to Drupal 10 or 11.
- Manage configuration using Drupal’s export, import, synchronization, and environment-specific settings tools.
- Use Composer for managing dependencies and Drush for administration and deployment.
- Troubleshoot application issues like PHP errors, database problems, integration failures, and configuration issues.
- Improve performance by optimizing caching, database queries, image files, and code.
- Apply Drupal security best practices and follow secure coding standards.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure that all code meets Drupal standards.
- Use Git-based version control, following branching, merge request, and code review workflows.
- Work with frontend developers, backend developers, QA engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Create technical documents for modules, configurations, integrations, and deployment steps.
- Support testing, bug fixing, user acceptance testing, production releases, and post-deployment support.
Required Technical Skills
- Solid hands-on experience with Drupal 10 and Drupal 11.
- Strong understanding of Drupal’s architecture, APIs, entities, plugins, services, hooks, events, and configuration management.
- Experience in developing custom modules and themes.
- Strong proficiency in PHP and object-oriented programming.
- Practical knowledge of Symfony components used in Drupal.
- Hands-on experience with Composer and Drush.
- Good knowledge of Twig, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and responsive web development.
- Experience integrating third-party systems using REST API, JSON:API, and other web services.
- Experience with MySQL or MariaDB.
- Proficiency with Git, GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Good understanding of Drupal caching, debugging, security, and performance.
- Experience with modules like Views, Webform, Paragraphs, Layout Builder, Media, CKEditor, and access control.
- Understanding of multilingual websites, content moderation, and publishing workflows.
- Familiarity with Linux-based development environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience updating Drupal 9 or 10 projects to Drupal 11.
- Experience with headless or decoupled Drupal setups.
- Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks like React, Next.js, or Vue.js.
- Experience setting up SAML, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, LDAP, or other Single Sign-On solutions.
- Experience with Apache Solr or Elasticsearch.
- Knowledge of PHPUnit, Behat, or Drupal automated testing tools.
- Familiarity with hosting platforms like Acquia Cloud, Pantheon, Platform.sh, or similar.
- Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated Drupal deployments.
Education
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
Required Experience
- 3 to 4 years of professional Drupal development experience.
- Proven track record in delivering Drupal 10 projects.
- Practical knowledge of Drupal 11 development and upgrades.
- Experience delivering at least two full Drupal implementations.
- Strong experience in custom modules, themes, integrations, and configuration management.
