IT Associate
Role Summary
The IT Associate will support the organisation’s technology operations by providing first-level technical assistance to users and helping maintain IT services, infrastructure, systems, and cybersecurity measures. The role will contribute to the effective implementation, maintenance, and improvement of technology services while ensuring that organisational policies, standards, and service requirements are followed.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support and Service Delivery
Provide first-line technical assistance to users and resolve IT incidents and service requests within established service-level requirements.
Record, update, and maintain accurate information within the IT helpdesk system.
Assist users with technology-related issues while delivering responsive and professional customer service.
Keep appropriate records of support activities, resolutions, and outstanding issues.
Technology Infrastructure
Assist with the implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and improvement of IT infrastructure.
Support computer networks, cloud-based services, telephony systems, computers, educational technology, teaching and learning equipment, and security and surveillance solutions.
Maintain up-to-date technical documentation for IT infrastructure and related services.
Information Security
Support the implementation of cybersecurity policies, controls, compliance requirements, and recognised industry standards.
Assist with security assessments, penetration testing exercises, and the resolution of identified security weaknesses.
Support identity and access management, vulnerability management, and cybersecurity awareness activities.
Assist with responding to cybersecurity incidents and documenting post-incident reviews.
Apply knowledge of data protection obligations and other relevant legal requirements affecting IT operations.
Information Systems and Digital Solutions
Support the deployment, maintenance, licensing, and effective use of approved information systems and digital and educational technology solutions.
Contribute to digital transformation initiatives designed to enhance learning, operational effectiveness, and the overall user experience.
Assist with the use and support of data warehouse and analytics platforms used for dashboards and reporting.
IT Assets, Projects and Vendors
Assist in managing IT hardware, software, and licensing throughout their respective lifecycles.
Keep accurate records of IT equipment, software licences, and subscription services.
Support the procurement, deployment, maintenance, replacement, and disposal of technology assets.
Contribute to assigned IT projects and workstreams, ensuring activities remain within agreed scope, timelines, quality standards, and budgets.
Assist with identifying vendors, conducting technical assessments, coordinating suppliers, monitoring service levels, and reviewing vendor performance.
Support backup, disaster recovery, resilience, and business continuity activities.

Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to document, coordinate, and present information effectively.

Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Management, or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
Relevant professional or technical IT certifications.
At least 2 years of practical experience providing IT support.
