ICT Manager
Job Purpose
The ICT Manager will lead the strategic and operational use of information and communication technology across the Archdiocese of Nairobi, ensuring that technology supports effective service delivery and organisational objectives. The role will oversee ICT infrastructure improvements, technology adoption, regulatory compliance, data protection, and the efficient use of ICT resources.
The position will also be responsible for strengthening data backup and recovery processes, developing staff ICT training initiatives, and establishing effective business continuity and disaster recovery measures. The ICT Manager will regularly evaluate and update the ICT policy framework while working closely with senior leadership to ensure that ICT plans and operations remain aligned with the archdiocese’s strategic direction.
Qualifications and Experience
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or another relevant field.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
At least 7 years of relevant professional experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a senior management or leadership position.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing ICT strategies.
Experience managing ICT infrastructure, systems, and technology improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of ICT governance, regulatory compliance, business continuity, and disaster recovery practices.
Professional Certifications
Candidates should hold professional certifications in at least two of the following areas:
Networking certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or an equivalent qualification.
Project management certification, including PMP or PRINCE2.
Cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or an equivalent credential.
Cloud computing certification covering platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
Membership or accreditation with a relevant professional body.
Technical Skills and Competencies
Proficiency in writing and working with SQL scripts.
Experience designing and managing system architectures for LAN, WAN, VPN, and VLAN environments.
Practical knowledge of server installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with Windows Server 2016 and Windows Server 2019 environments.
Strong understanding of ICT infrastructure management and technology security.
Ability to assess emerging technologies and determine their suitability for organisational needs.
Strong leadership, strategic planning, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
