The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Providing leadership and oversight in the execution of multiple projects within a portfolio while effectively managing competing priorities, limited resources, and tight timelines.
Developing project processes and procedures that support the successful achievement of project objectives.
Applying an agreed project management methodology throughout the project lifecycle, including planning, initiation, execution, monitoring, control, and reporting.
Preparing key project governance documents, including Project Charters and Project Management Plans.
Defining the project team structure and bringing together cross-functional team members based on their technical and functional expertise.
Identifying project stakeholders, understanding their roles and contributions, and coordinating activities across internal departments and external parties.
Allocating responsibilities to project team members in collaboration with workstream owners while maintaining team motivation and performance.
Managing project budgets and resource allocation, continuously monitoring project performance against established objectives, identifying deviations from the project plan, and implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Facilitating the definition of project scope, user requirements, and service levels while coordinating the activities of partners, vendors, and consultants involved in project implementation.
Planning and overseeing appropriate testing phases to ensure successful project delivery.
Preparing and presenting regular updates on project progress, status, risks, and issues to relevant stakeholders.
Organizing and chairing Project Steering Committee meetings involving the Executive Sponsor and other key stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills & Attributes
The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
Bachelor's degree in an ICT-related field from a recognized university.
Professional certification in Project Management, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner or PMP. Certification in Agile Project Management will be an added advantage.
At least five years of progressively responsible experience, including a proven record of successfully managing multiple projects.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a sandbox environment for delivering technical initiatives using Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
Proven experience delivering ICT projects successfully using both Waterfall and Agile implementation frameworks.
Strong knowledge of the project management lifecycle, methodologies, phases, techniques, and tools, with demonstrated expertise in project governance, sponsor management, and risk management.
Comprehensive understanding of information technology concepts and operational processes.
Proven leadership capability, with strong enthusiasm, energy, and a client-focused approach to managing teams.
Experience in business process analysis, preferably within a multidisciplinary environment.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain focused on deliverables while adapting implementation approaches to meet deadlines and client expectations.
Good understanding of the organization's project management methodologies and tools, together with knowledge of IT as a shared service supporting other areas of the bank.
