KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design, set up, and keep data security features in place like data classification, labeling, encryption, and data loss prevention (DLP) across all systems, applications, and cloud environments.

Create and update data security policies, standards, procedures, and minimum security configuration baselines following industry best practices and legal rules.

Make sure the bank follows all related laws and standards like the Kenya Data Protection Act, ISO 27001, GDPR, and others.

Work with the Cybersecurity Intelligence and Security Operations Centre (CISOC) to constantly watch over and protect the bank's systems from cyber threats.

Help in safely introducing new tech, apps, and platforms so that they meet security needs before being used in production.

Lead the full process of managing vulnerabilities in databases and data storage by checking both cloud and on-site setups, ranking risks, and working with different teams to fix issues and keep track of compliance.

Help with cybersecurity risk checks and fixes by using technical skills to address any gaps found by assurance teams such as Information Risk and Audit teams.

Help with internal and external checks related to data security and privacy.

Keep researching and giving technical advice across different business and tech areas, and run training sessions on data security and user awareness for the whole group.

MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Academic & Professional

Education Bachelor’s Degree BSc.
IT / Computer Science or related field RQ

Professional Qualifications

Security certifications such as

SC-401: Information Protection Administrator Associate
CISA: Certified Information Systems Auditor
CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker
CISM: Certified Information Security Manager
CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional
SSCP: Systems Security Certified Practitioner
CompTIA Security+
At least one RQ
Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP)
SC-900: Microsoft Security, Compliance, and Identity Fundamentals, CyberOps Professional, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) AA
Oracle Database certifications in either OCP/ Oracle Database Security
Microsoft Database certifications such as MCDBA AA
