Job Purpose
The ICT Assistant – Network Administration will report directly to the Head of ICT and play a key role in supporting the organization’s network infrastructure, information security, and overall ICT operations. The position is responsible for identifying and evaluating technology-related risks, supporting the mitigation of security vulnerabilities, and contributing to the implementation of effective IT risk management practices across the organization.
The role will work closely with the Database Administrator as well as the Business Intelligence and Reporting teams to coordinate ICT support services and ensure the smooth operation of business-critical systems. Additionally, the incumbent will be responsible for maintaining secure, reliable, and efficient network connectivity across all company locations while safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of organizational information systems and digital assets.
The position also supports the monitoring, maintenance, and continuous improvement of network performance, cybersecurity controls, and system reliability to ensure uninterrupted business operations and compliance with established ICT policies and standards.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and competencies:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related ICT discipline from a recognized institution.
A minimum of two years of practical experience in network administration, support, or infrastructure management.
Professional networking or cybersecurity certification such as CCNA, CEH, or an equivalent credential will be highly desirable.
Demonstrated hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of network infrastructure and related technologies.
Strong understanding of networking principles, protocols, architectures, and security best practices.
Proven ability to deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot routers, switches, and other network devices.
Experience diagnosing and resolving network connectivity, performance, and security-related issues in a timely manner.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools, system administration practices, and IT support procedures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective technical solutions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide technical support and collaborate effectively with users and stakeholders.
