Job Brief
This is a mid-level full-stack position.
You'll work on our Laravel (PHP) back-end, Angular/TypeScript front-end, and Flutter mobile app.You'll take ownership of features from start to finish with minimal supervision.Code quality is very important, especially since we deal with sensitive health data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain features using Laravel, Angular/TypeScript, and Flutter
- Build and document REST APIs for AphiaOne, Mediclaim, Mediwrite, and the AphiaApp
- Work with payment and messaging systems such as M-Pesa/Daraja and SMS gateways, as well as other third-party services
- Implement secure coding and data protection practices in accordance with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019
- Participate in CI/CD deployments, code reviews, and our expanding work on analytics and AI-assisted tools
- Collaborate with product, operations, and support teams to ensure reliable deliveries and issue resolution
What You'll Need
- Hands-on experience with full-stack development, ideally with Laravel/PHP and TypeScript/Angular (React/Vue is also acceptable); you should be able to own features independently
- Experience with a mobile framework (Flutter is preferred; React Native or native Android/iOS is also considered)
- Strong understanding of SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), Git, and REST APIs
- A willingness to learn; experience with AI/ML integration (like LLM APIs or AI-assisted tools), cloud computing, or BI tools is a plus
- A Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; experience in health-tech, AI/ML, PowerBI, or a scaling, product-driven environment is a nice-to-have
