Job purpose:
The Information Systems Auditor (ISA) is tasked with offering independent assurance regarding the governance, effectiveness, security, and adequacy of the Bank's IT systems, infrastructure, and processes.
This role ensures that all activities comply with the CBK Prudential Guidelines, ISO standards, PCI-DSS, Bank policies, and other relevant regulations.
The role involves examining the Bank's information systems to confirm they are working properly, secure, and safe across all areas.
This includes verifying that they meet privacy, customer trust, and information security laws, as well as other regulations that apply to financial institutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and carry out IT audit plans based on risk assessments.
- Review core banking systems, payment platforms, and the controls in place for IT infrastructure.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and conduct penetration tests.
- Evaluate cybersecurity measures, access controls, and incident response procedures.
- Assess IT governance, policies, and compliance with regulations.
- Examine vendor management processes, including oversight of IT service providers, contract compliance, and performance against service level agreements (SLAs).
- Review the Bank's Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework, including testing for disaster recovery.
- Conduct audits following Global Internal Audit Standards (GIAS) and ISACA guidelines.
- Prepare audit reports and follow up on the resolution of identified issues.
Job Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CISA certification is required; CISM, CEH, or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor certifications are advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT auditing, risk management, forensics, and security, preferably in the banking sector.
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid understanding of IT general controls, cybersecurity, SDLC, vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and disaster recovery.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills – must be able to effectively communicate with people at all organizational levels and build strong working relationships.
- High level of integrity and independence.
