Position Summary
The Data Migration Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the migration of data from legacy banking platforms to modern Core Banking Systems (CBS) such as Temenos T24, Finacle, or Oracle FLEXCUBE. The role oversees the complete data migration lifecycle, including data extraction, cleansing, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and final migration, while ensuring data accuracy, regulatory compliance, and minimal operational disruption during system implementation and go-live.
Educational Requirements
Applicants should possess:
A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or another related discipline from a recognized institution.
Professional Experience
Candidates should have:
Between four and eight years of relevant experience in data migration projects within the banking or financial services sector.
Practical experience participating in the implementation or migration of at least one Core Banking System, such as Temenos T24, Finacle, Oracle FLEXCUBE, or a similar platform.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale financial data migration projects involving high volumes of banking information.
Technical Skills
The ideal candidate should demonstrate:
Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational database platforms such as Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong knowledge of Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and data transformation methodologies.
A solid understanding of banking products and data models, including customer information files (CIF), loans, deposits, and general ledger (GL) structures.
Experience performing data validation, reconciliation, and financial balancing to ensure the accuracy and completeness of migrated information.
Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell scripting, which will be considered an added advantage.
