Role
The successful person in this job will need to:
- Conduct ICT risk assessments on the Co-operative Bank's systems and suggest suitable IT security controls to reduce and manage ICT risks.
- Keep reviewing and improving the ICT controls currently in place.
- Regularly check all levels of systems including servers, applications, databases, and network devices, spot risks, and offer recommendations to handle them.
- Ensure ongoing assurance on ICT risks across the Bank's systems.
- Evaluate ICT controls for all operating systems, applications, database management systems, and networks to make sure they meet compliance needs like regulations, standards, and internal policies.
- Help create a security-aware culture in the Bank by offering advice, guidance, and organizing relevant awareness programs.
- Anticipate possible threats and weaknesses and give guidance to the ICT department on how to respond or implement measures to reduce these risks.
- Manage the ICT Risk register.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests on the Bank's systems and technology, identifying weaknesses and suggesting ways to fix them.
Skills, Competencies, and Experience
The person selected will need to have the following skills and experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Security, or Computer Science.
- Relevant IT Security professional qualifications, such as CISA, CISM, CEH, or other related certifications.
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a highly computerized environment.
- Experience in implementing Information Security Standards like ISO 27001 or COBIT.
- Good understanding of ICT risk and systems security control processes.
- Knowledge of Information Systems Architecture and how they operate.
- Awareness of Audit Methodologies.
- Experience working with Windows Enterprise servers or UNIX systems.
- Experience working in the IT department of a bank is an advantage.
- Knowledge of good cybersecurity practices, including Identity and Access Management, Data Protection, and Penetration Testing.
