Role Overview
The IT Technician will provide day-to-day technical assistance and maintain the hotel's information systems, equipment, software, and network infrastructure. The position is responsible for helping ensure that technology operates smoothly for both hotel guests and employees.
The technician will also provide support for the hotel's technology platforms while helping the property meet Minor Hotels' IT standards, security requirements, and data protection expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Provide first-level technical assistance for hardware, software, network, and system-related problems.
Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other technology equipment.
Support hotel technology applications and systems, including the Property Management System (PMS), Point of Sale (POS) systems, guest Wi-Fi, IPTV, electronic key card systems, and telephony solutions.
Investigate and resolve user technical issues promptly and professionally.
Monitor network connectivity and help maintain dependable operation of the hotel's technology services.
Set up and manage user accounts, access permissions, and email accounts.
Carry out regular system maintenance, software installations, updates, and security patching.
Keep the hotel's IT asset inventory up to date and maintain accurate records of equipment and software licenses.
Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding by preparing IT equipment and managing the recovery of equipment and system access when required.
Work with vendors and external service providers to coordinate maintenance and obtain technical assistance when necessary.
Ensure IT activities comply with company policies, security standards, and applicable data protection requirements.
Provide support for IT projects, system enhancements, and other technology improvement initiatives as assigned.
