Position Overview
Our client is seeking a motivated, organized, and detail-focused Junior Accounts Assistant to join the Finance and Operations team. The successful candidate will support daily accounting functions, inventory management activities, payroll administration, reconciliations, and financial reporting processes while helping maintain accurate records and efficient operational workflows.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting and Record Management
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system on a daily basis.
Process supplier payments, customer receipts, and other accounts payable and receivable transactions.
Prepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Update and maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and analyses.
Support the development of management accounts and statutory financial statements.
Ensure financial documents are properly organized, filed, and securely maintained for future reference.
Assist in the preparation of tax returns, statutory filings, and supporting schedules.
Support compliance with tax regulations and other applicable statutory requirements.
Maintain complete and accurate records to facilitate internal reviews, audits, and regulatory inspections.
Reconciliations and Internal Controls
Prepare bank reconciliations and verify account balances against financial records.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies or outstanding items.
Identify, analyze, and resolve inconsistencies in accounting records and transactions.
Support the implementation and monitoring of internal controls, policies, and accounting procedures to safeguard company assets.
Payroll Administration
Assist with payroll processing activities, including salary calculations, statutory deductions, employee benefits, and payroll updates.
Maintain payroll records with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Inventory Accounting and Stock Management
Monitor inventory transactions and ensure stock movements are accurately captured within company systems.
Reconcile physical inventory counts with inventory records and investigate variances where necessary.
Support stock audits and inventory verification exercises.
Assist in the calculation and analysis of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to enhance inventory accuracy and strengthen stock control processes.
Qualifications and Requirements
Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
CPA Part II or higher qualification will be considered an added advantage.
One to two years of relevant experience in accounting, bookkeeping, inventory management, finance, or a related area.
Previous experience in retail, wholesale, distribution, e-commerce, manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive industries is highly desirable.
Proficiency in accounting and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems such as QuickBooks, Odoo, Zoho Books, Sage, or comparable platforms.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the use of Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis tools, and spreadsheet reporting functions.
Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management applications.
Sound understanding of inventory accounting principles, stock control procedures, and inventory reconciliation processes.
