About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned finance professional to take charge of financial controls, reporting, supplier and inventory oversight, tax compliance, and record accuracy across every restaurant in our network.
What you will handle
• Run the full supplier and accounts payable cycle, from maintaining the approved vendor list and running supplier reconciliations to reviewing statements, checking pricing, and making sure all vendor payments go out on time.
• Keep stock under tight control across every location by carrying out regular physical counts, checking daily inventory figures, digging into variances, and partnering with operations to tighten inventory discipline and protect margins.
• Track daily takings from cash, card, and delivery platforms, confirming that banked amounts tie back cleanly to POS reports, deposit slips, and third-party payout statements, and chasing down any mismatches without delay.
• Keep the accounting system clean and current with purchases, sales, expenses, banking activity, and other financial entries, then produce monthly management accounts, full financial statements, and management commentary.
• Own tax and statutory compliance end to end, including preparing and filing monthly VAT returns and reconciliations, tying VAT balances back to KRA iTax records, handling withholding tax submissions, and clearing any discrepancies that surface.
• Watch renewal dates for restaurant licences, permits, and other regulatory requirements, and keep complete, audit-ready financial files on hand for inspections.
• Direct the stock controller and collaborate closely with restaurant and operations leadership to harden financial controls, lift operational efficiency, and give management reliable data for commercial and strategic calls.
What you need to bring
• A CPA (K), ACCA, or CIMA qualification.
• At least three years of post-qualification accounting experience, ideally within hospitality, restaurants, retail, or a multi-site operation.
• Solid practical experience with QuickBooks Online and the ability to produce clear financial reports.
• Working knowledge of Kenyan VAT, withholding tax, KRA iTax, and broader statutory compliance.
• A track record in stock control, supplier management, cash and banking reconciliations, and financial controls.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and organisational skills, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and thrive in a fast-paced operational setting.
