Job Overview
Egis is seeking a talented and motivated Junior Master Planner with 2–5 years of professional experience to contribute to master planning and urban design projects ranging from small to large developments.
The successful candidate will assist with master planning layouts, urban design activities, and client and government authority submissions, particularly for projects in the UAE. The position will work under the direct supervision and guidance of a master planning or urban design lead.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in developing master planning studies, diagrams, sketches, and visual presentations using Adobe Creative Suite.
Support research, analysis, master planning, and urban design activities across assigned projects.
Work with landscape designers, architects, infrastructure engineers, and other disciplines to help deliver coordinated multidisciplinary projects.
Contribute creative ideas and design input to master planning projects under the direction of the planning or urban design lead.
Assist in preparing planning and urban design guidelines, technical details, numerical calculations, and related master planning data.
Help produce master plan drawings, reports, and presentations using Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Apply creative and analytical thinking to help identify practical and effective solutions to master planning and urban design challenges.
Provide timely updates on assigned tasks and communicate progress to the master planning or urban design lead in line with project schedules.
Support team leaders in preparing documentation and submission requirements for government departments and other authorities, particularly in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, to facilitate planning approvals in the UAE.
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Urban Design, Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
2–5 years of relevant professional experience.
Experience developing conceptual master plans, illustrative layouts, and basic numerical calculations associated with master planning.
Ability to communicate master plan updates and project progress to clients when required, following guidance and instructions from team leadership.
Creative approach to planning and a basic understanding of current master planning practices.
Proactive and dependable approach, with willingness to take initiative and provide additional support to project leadership when required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating initiative, responsibility, and ownership of assigned tasks.
Proficiency in 3D modelling applications such as Rhino and SketchUp.
