Requirements
Master’s degree or LL.M. qualification is required.
At least eight (8) years of experience as in-house legal counsel in a similar role, preferably within regional or multi-jurisdictional settings. Experience in regulatory and compliance matters is highly desirable.
Prior experience in international non-profit, development, research, or agricultural research organizations is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of regional legal frameworks and the ability to operate effectively across complex multi-country jurisdictions.
Proven ability to provide clear, practical, and timely legal guidance across all organizational levels, balancing legal risk with operational needs.
Experience managing a high workload of legal matters under pressure while prioritizing tasks and meeting strict deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify legal concepts for non-legal audiences.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and willingness to adopt new digital systems.
High ethical standards with strict adherence to confidentiality and professional discretion.
Strong attention to detail, urgency, and consistency in delivering accurate legal outputs with proper follow-up.
Excellent interpersonal skills for effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
Fluency in English at C2 level (assessed competency required).
Demonstrated skills in time management, adaptability, teamwork, client orientation, initiative, problem-solving, and cultural sensitivity across diverse environments.
