Job Summary

The Legal Officer will assist in the management of the organization's legal matters by coordinating litigation processes, supporting dispute resolution and settlement initiatives, and driving recovery actions where necessary. The role involves close collaboration with external legal counsel, internal departments, and senior leadership to protect and advance the company's legal and commercial interests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree or an equivalent legal qualification from a recognized institution.

• Postgraduate Diploma in Law with admission to the Bar and possession of a valid current Practicing Certificate.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other standard office software.

• At least one (1) year of practical experience in managing legal matters and related processes.

Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of insurance law and industry practices will be an added advantage.

• Demonstrated experience in litigation, legal case management, corporate legal affairs, or related areas.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with excellent organizational abilities.

• Ability to identify and evaluate legal risks and provide practical, well-informed recommendations.

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, with the capacity to effectively handle multiple assignments and deadlines concurrently.
