Forklift and Genset Operator

Salary: KSh 50,000 - KSh 100,000 per month

Purpose of the Role

The role involves safely operating and maintaining electric forklifts and generator sets, handling materials, conducting routine equipment inspections, monitoring performance, maintaining operational records and reporting faults while following all required safety procedures.

Role Accountabilities

• Safely operate electric forklifts for loading, unloading, lifting, stacking and moving materials.

• Conduct daily forklift inspections and monitor battery condition and charging.

• Connect and disconnect the forklift charger safely and according to established procedures.

• Operate and monitor diesel generator sets.

• Conduct routine genset checks and monitor fuel, oil, coolant, voltage and other operating parameters.

• Maintain accurate records of forklift operations, battery charging and genset activities.

• Promptly report equipment faults, damage, safety hazards and abnormal operating conditions.

• Maintain a clean, organized and safe working environment.

• Comply with company health, safety and operational procedures.

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, books of accounts and supporting documentation.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• Minimum KCSE or equivalent qualification.

• Valid forklift operator certification or licence.

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in forklift and/or genset operations.

• Experience operating electric forklifts is required or preferred.

• Knowledge of forklift battery charging and basic electrical safety.

• Basic knowledge of diesel generators and routine equipment maintenance.

• Good communication, record-keeping and teamwork skills.

• Strong commitment to workplace safety and proper equipment care.
