Responsibilities

Conduct routine patient assessments by taking comprehensive medical histories, carrying out physical examinations, and requesting appropriate laboratory or imaging investigations in line with evidence-based medical practice and approved clinical protocols.
Regularly assess and document the condition and progress of patients with both acute and long-term illnesses.
Communicate with patients and their caregivers to support accurate diagnosis, informed decisions, and effective treatment.
Perform emergency medical and surgical interventions, including procedures that may be critical to saving a patient’s life, when required.
Carry out preventive healthcare services such as screening, wellness assessments, risk evaluations, early identification of health conditions, and patient education on disease prevention.
Consult relevant specialists and hospital departments promptly when managing cases that require specialized medical attention.
Coordinate with clinic management and the main hospital to facilitate appropriate and timely patient referrals.
Collaborate with clinical and support teams to deliver coordinated, patient-focused care while minimizing errors, unnecessary costs, and inefficient use of resources.
Take part in quality improvement activities at the clinic alongside clinic management and the Quality and Patient Safety team.

Requirements

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or an equivalent medical qualification.
Completion of a minimum two-year postgraduate internship.
Current registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board.
A valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
