Position Summary
Reporting to the Medical Director, the Consultant Medical Oncologist will offer expert oncology advice, help with diagnosing and managing cancer patients, take part in team meetings with different specialists, and help create structured care plans for oncology patients.


The role demands good clinical skills, the ability to work well with others, strong communication with patients, and the flexibility to work in both private clinics and hospitals.


Qualifications & Experience
You must have a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or similar degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
A Master of Medicine (MMed) in Internal Medicine along with a formal Fellowship in Medical Oncology or equivalent specialist qualification is also required.You must be fully registered and licensed as a Specialist Medical Practitioner by KMPDC.

You should have at least 3 to 5 years of experience working as a Medical Oncologist in a busy tertiary hospital or a dedicated private oncology clinic.


Key Skills & Competencies
You need to have strong clinical knowledge in oncology.
Excellent communication and counseling skills with patients are essential.You must be able to work well in a team with different professionals.Flexibility in working between hospital and private clinic settings is important.Strong clinical judgment, professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical behavior are required.You should also be committed to providing high-quality, evidence-based cancer care and keeping up with ongoing learning and improvement.

Engagement Options
The position can be filled on a fee-for-service basis or as a consultant, depending on agreement.
Fixed clinic days per week may be part of the role.
