Key Duties and Responsibilities
Provide high-quality nursing care during pregnancy, childbirth, and after birth.

Keep track of the mother's health throughout pregnancy, labour, delivery, and the time right after.

Do nursing checks and create care plans that suit the needs of each patient.

Spot pregnancies that may have risks and quickly report them to the doctors for further help.

Help with normal births and support emergency procedures related to childbirth, as allowed by the nursing role.

Check newborns right after birth and offer basic care to ensure their health.

Be ready to act quickly in case of emergencies involving mothers or babies.

Start emergency actions within the limits of your professional skills.

Arrange for specialist help when needed.

Keep an eye on how babies are growing and their overall health.

Encourage exclusive breastfeeding and teach mothers how to take care of their newborns.

Notice any problems in newborns and make sure they get help quickly.


Qualifications and Experience
Hold a diploma in Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing (KRCHN), a diploma in nursing with a focus on midwifery, or an equivalent degree from a reputable institution.

Have at least two years of experience working in a maternity, labour, and delivery unit or a similar healthcare environment.

Preference will be given to those with experience in providing maternal and newborn care in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
