Job Summary

Pearl Hospital is a Level 4 multi-specialty facility located in Laikipia County. The hospital is committed to Quality, Efficiency, Professionalism, and Compassion and is looking for a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, effective, and patient-focused nursing services. The successful candidate will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to support high standards of patient care and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing services in line with approved clinical standards and procedures.

• Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly communicate any changes in patients’ conditions.

• Administer prescribed medicines and carry out required treatments.

• Support doctors and other healthcare providers during examinations and medical procedures.

• Prepare patients for admission, discharge, investigations, and clinical procedures.

• Accurately complete and maintain patient files, nursing notes, and other relevant documentation.

• Follow infection prevention and control practices at all times.

• Provide patients and their families with guidance on treatment plans, medication use, health promotion, and discharge care.

• Handle emergencies appropriately and provide timely nursing interventions.

• Maintain proper storage, use, and accountability of medicines and medical supplies.

• Protect patient privacy and adhere to professional nursing standards and ethical requirements.

• Take part in ward rounds, shift handovers, and multidisciplinary meetings.

• Keep nursing stations and patient care areas clean, secure, organised, and conducive to quality care.

• Promote compassionate service and contribute to a positive patient experience.

• Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the Nurse in Charge or hospital management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.

• Valid registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and a current practising licence.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an added advantage.

• At least 5 years of clinical experience is an added advantage.

• Strong understanding of nursing procedures, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

• Ability to remain effective under pressure and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
