Job Summary
Pearl Hospital is a Level 4 multi-specialty facility located in Laikipia County. The hospital is committed to Quality, Efficiency, Professionalism, and Compassion and is looking for a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, effective, and patient-focused nursing services. The successful candidate will work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to support high standards of patient care and service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive nursing services in line with approved clinical standards and procedures.
Conduct patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly communicate any changes in patients’ conditions.
Administer prescribed medicines and carry out required treatments.
Support doctors and other healthcare providers during examinations and medical procedures.
Prepare patients for admission, discharge, investigations, and clinical procedures.
Accurately complete and maintain patient files, nursing notes, and other relevant documentation.
Follow infection prevention and control practices at all times.
Provide patients and their families with guidance on treatment plans, medication use, health promotion, and discharge care.
Handle emergencies appropriately and provide timely nursing interventions.
Maintain proper storage, use, and accountability of medicines and medical supplies.
Protect patient privacy and adhere to professional nursing standards and ethical requirements.
Take part in ward rounds, shift handovers, and multidisciplinary meetings.
Keep nursing stations and patient care areas clean, secure, organised, and conducive to quality care.
Promote compassionate service and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Carry out any other responsibilities assigned by the Nurse in Charge or hospital management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Nursing from a recognised institution.
Valid registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and a current practising licence.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is an added advantage.
At least 5 years of clinical experience is an added advantage.
Strong understanding of nursing procedures, infection prevention, and patient safety practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to remain effective under pressure and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
