Reporting to: Operations Manager
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily vehicle dispatches, driver allocations and planned journeys.
Track fleet movements through GPS and vehicle monitoring platforms, investigating route deviations, delays and other operational concerns.
Work closely with drivers, customers, maintenance teams and relevant departments to support efficient transport operations.
Monitor fuel usage, mileage and vehicle deployment, identifying and reporting any irregularities.
Respond to and escalate vehicle breakdowns, accidents, delays and emergency situations without unnecessary delay.
Keep accurate control-room logs and records and compile daily operations reports.
Ensure all fleet activities follow established company procedures, policies and operational standards.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
Diploma in Transport Management, Fleet Management, Business Administration or a related discipline.
At least 5 years of experience working in a busy control room, transport operations, fleet management or a comparable environment.
Previous experience within the transport sector is highly preferred.
Practical experience using GPS tracking, vehicle monitoring and fleet management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Demonstrated integrity, accountability and professional conduct.
Strong communication, analytical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to remain effective in high-pressure situations, manage multiple responsibilities and meet strict deadlines.
Self-driven, reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when operational needs require.
