Patient Journey Partner (PJP)
Job Summary
The Patient Journey Partner (PJP) is responsible for improving patient outcomes by building strong partnerships with healthcare stakeholders and supporting initiatives that enhance the patient journey. The role focuses on understanding the needs of patients, healthcare professionals, disease area experts, patient advocacy groups, and other healthcare partners to develop meaningful solutions that improve access to healthcare and treatment. The successful candidate works collaboratively across cross-functional teams to develop strategies, implement healthcare initiatives, and deliver value to patients, healthcare systems, and the organization. The position requires a patient-centered approach, strong stakeholder engagement skills, commercial awareness, and the ability to use market insights, innovation, and digital tools to improve healthcare delivery and patient experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Patient Journey Management
Develop a deep understanding of the patient journey by engaging healthcare stakeholders and identifying challenges, unmet needs, and opportunities that improve patient care and treatment outcomes.
Partner with healthcare professionals, disease area specialists, healthcare institutions, patient advocacy groups, and other stakeholders to co-create solutions that enhance patient experiences and improve healthcare delivery.
Identify barriers affecting patient access to treatment and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop practical and sustainable solutions that support better healthcare outcomes.
Promote patient-centered healthcare initiatives by ensuring that all activities focus on improving patient experiences, treatment access, and long-term health outcomes.
Continuously monitor changes within the healthcare environment and adapt engagement strategies to address evolving patient and healthcare system needs.
2. Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
Build, strengthen, and maintain productive relationships with healthcare providers, medical professionals, patient organizations, government agencies, and other key stakeholders within the healthcare ecosystem.
Collaborate closely with disease area experts and healthcare partners to understand their priorities, gather valuable insights, and support the development of patient-focused healthcare solutions.
Establish trust with internal and external stakeholders by maintaining open communication, professionalism, integrity, and transparency in all engagements.
Represent Roche professionally during stakeholder meetings, workshops, healthcare forums, and collaborative initiatives while promoting the organization's healthcare objectives.
Foster long-term partnerships that support improved patient care, healthcare innovation, and sustainable value creation across the healthcare ecosystem.
3. Strategy Development and Business Delivery
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that improve patient journeys and align with organizational goals and healthcare priorities.
Use market insights, healthcare trends, disease area knowledge, and stakeholder feedback to develop effective engagement plans and business strategies.
Lead the execution of patient-centered initiatives by coordinating activities across cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and measurable outcomes.
Support the achievement of organizational objectives by identifying opportunities that create value for patients, healthcare providers, and the broader healthcare system.
Continuously evaluate strategic initiatives and recommend improvements that enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and patient impact.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with colleagues from commercial, medical, customer experience, market access, and other functional teams to coordinate activities and deliver integrated healthcare solutions.
Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of business objectives, healthcare strategies, and patient-focused initiatives.
Share knowledge, best practices, and lessons learned with internal teams to promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous organizational learning.
Support agile ways of working by encouraging teamwork, adaptability, knowledge sharing, and effective communication across departments.
Collaborate with global and local teams to exchange ideas, implement successful practices, and contribute to organizational excellence.
5. Innovation and Digital Engagement
Promote innovative approaches that improve healthcare delivery, patient engagement, and stakeholder collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem.
Utilize digital technologies, artificial intelligence, omnichannel communication platforms, and other emerging technologies to strengthen stakeholder engagement and improve healthcare solutions.
Identify opportunities to improve healthcare processes by encouraging innovation, experimentation, and continuous learning while ensuring activities create measurable value.
Support the adoption of digital tools that improve communication, collaboration, healthcare education, and patient support.
Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by embracing new technologies, innovative thinking, and evidence-based decision-making.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, Biotechnology, Healthcare, or another related scientific field.
An advanced degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare Management, Business Administration (MBA), or another related field will be an added advantage.
A minimum of four (4) years of proven experience in pharmaceutical marketing, healthcare solutions, brand management, customer engagement, or another related role within the healthcare industry.
Experience working with healthcare professionals, disease area experts, patient advocacy groups, or healthcare organizations.
Proficiency in spoken and written English to support communication within local and global teams.
Experience
The ideal candidate should have practical experience developing healthcare strategies, engaging stakeholders, and implementing patient-centered initiatives within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Experience leading cross-functional teams, coordinating healthcare projects, and translating market insights into actionable business strategies is highly desirable.
The candidate should demonstrate experience in commercialization, medical engagement, customer experience excellence, and healthcare innovation.
Exposure to medical affairs, market access, digital engagement, and agile working methods will be an added advantage.
Experience using digital technologies, data insights, and innovative approaches to improve stakeholder engagement and healthcare delivery is desirable.
