JOB POSITION: PLANT LAYOUT DESIGNER

Plant Layout Design

• Develop and maintain master plant layouts for cement plants and other heavy industrial facilities.

• Modify standard equipment designs to suit the specific topography and requirements of each project.

• Incorporate access routes and maintenance pathways into plant layouts.

• Ensure layouts comply with applicable design standards, tolerances and regulations.

• Integrate civil foundation footprints and structural contours into mechanical layouts.

Specialized Equipment and Machinery Modelling

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D drawings.

• Develop structural and mechanical interface drawings.

• Design material handling systems.

Vendor Engineering Management

• Reconcile vendor drawings and maintain proper drawing version control.

• Review and verify vendor drawings to ensure compliance with project technical specifications.

• Identify and document mechanical, structural and electrical interface points between vendor-supplied equipment and engineering drawings.

• Prepare Bills of Materials (BOMs) based on drawing specifications.

Requirements

• Diploma in Mechanical Drafting or a related field.

• Strong knowledge of plant layouts and General Arrangement (GA) drawing review.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.

• 7–12 years of relevant experience.
