Role Purpose
To take full responsibility for the entire international procurement and freight process.
You will be in charge of finding global suppliers, arranging international shipping, managing customs clearance locally, and getting important tax and duty exemptions from government agencies like EPRA, KRA, and the National Treasury.Your main goal is to make sure all cargo arrives safely, legally, and at a good cost to the warehouse.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.

Professional certifications such as CIPS or KISM are a plus.

Experience
At least 4 to 6 years of hands-on experience in international procurement and customs clearance in Kenya.

Experience in importing solar energy equipment, electrical hardware, or technical engineering components is a big advantage.

System Proficiency
You should have direct experience with the Single Window System (Kentrade), iCMS (KRA), and enterprise resource planning software.
Experience with Zoho Inventory or similar ERP systems is highly valued.

Key Competencies
A proven history of successfully getting clearances from EPRA, KRA, and the National Treasury.

Deep knowledge of international shipping laws, Incoterms 2020, marine cargo insurance, and how to structure freight rates.

Ability to resolve shipping issues at the port or with customs officials before they become major problems.

Skill in managing many shipping documents at once without missing important dates, documents, or exemption certificates.
