About the Role
The position is responsible for overseeing process assurance activities at the Haleon Nairobi site, ensuring that manufacturing processes are properly qualified and remain in a validated state in line with company quality requirements, compliance standards and applicable regulatory expectations.
The role will also ensure that the site has the technical capabilities required to optimize operational efficiency. This includes ensuring manufacturing processes are capable, controlled and consistently deliver products that meet quality specifications at manufacture and throughout their shelf life through technical risk assessments, process validation, packaging development and equipment or system qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Lead product development technology, technical product transfers and product innovation initiatives across the assigned value stream.
Oversee New Product Introduction (NPI) and source changes by coordinating Technical Risk Assessments, packaging development, process validation and technical product transfers to minimize quality and technical risks.
Drive product lifecycle management and validation activities within the supported value stream.
Coordinate changes involving packaging materials and artwork that may affect site value streams.
Lead process robustness studies by evaluating Critical Process Parameters (CPPs) and Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) to strengthen manufacturing capability and process performance.
Ensure proposed changes that could affect product quality are properly evaluated before implementation and lead the associated change management activities.
Develop validation protocols and execute the required qualification and validation activities, including Operational Qualification (OQ), Performance Qualification (PQ), cleaning validation and process validation.
Lead value engineering projects and initiatives within the assigned value stream.
Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with GMP requirements, site SOPs, EHS standards, QMS requirements, applicable guidelines and relevant legislation.
Promote and strengthen a culture of data integrity within the department.
Identify, assess and manage technical risks associated with the production value stream.
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to maintain an efficient supply chain and address process challenges that may disrupt the movement of products through the business.
Qualifications and Skills
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering.
At least three years of relevant experience in a similar technical or process-related position.
