Responsibilities
Take ownership of ReliefWeb as its product manager, providing strategic direction, establishing its long-term development roadmap, and ensuring the platform continues to meet organizational objectives and the needs of humanitarian users.
Plan, execute, monitor, and assess assigned programmes and projects, reviewing progress, identifying challenges, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and ensuring appropriate corrective and follow-up actions are completed.
Lead workshops and collaborative sessions while contributing to quarterly workplans, product roadmaps, and action plans that balance stakeholder expectations, user requirements, technical possibilities, and available organizational resources.
Collaborate with product managers responsible for other OCHA platforms, including the Humanitarian Data Exchange, to support common data standards, schemas, and AI integration in accordance with the agreed organizational strategy.
Gather information from a wide range of sources, conduct research and analysis, and present findings in a clear and useful manner.
Contribute to policy development by examining emerging issues and trends, coordinating research and evaluations, and supporting the preparation of policy-related outputs.
Develop and coordinate user surveys to better understand platform requirements, including designing data collection tools, evaluating responses, identifying key issues, and drawing relevant conclusions.
Prepare a variety of written materials, including background documents, analytical papers, report sections, studies, publication inputs, and related programme documentation.
Plan and coordinate outreach initiatives, training sessions, seminars, and workshops, including delivering presentations on relevant subjects and activities.
Support programme and project budgeting activities, including funding submissions, financial and progress reporting, work programmes, programme budgets, and related documentation.
Supervise teams responsible for gathering, validating, organizing, and cataloguing data and information.
Work with technical specialists and external service providers on software development, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and platform-related requirements.
Analyze datasets to identify patterns, trends, and useful insights, presenting findings through charts, graphs, tables, dashboards, and other data visualization approaches to support planning and decision-making.
Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Education
A Master's degree or equivalent advanced university qualification in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Information Management, Social Sciences, or another relevant discipline is required.
Candidates with a first-level university degree may be considered where they also possess two additional years of qualifying professional experience in place of the advanced degree.
Work Experience
At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in programme management, project management, administration, or a closely related area.
At least three years of experience within the past seven years managing digital products or data-focused products.
Experience applying Agile methodologies in the development and delivery of technical products is an advantage.
Previous experience working in a humanitarian environment within the UN Common System or a comparable international organization is desirable.
At least three years of international field experience during the previous seven years, gained in aid operations involving complex emergencies or natural disasters, is desirable.
