Responsibilities

• Support the planning, coordination, and oversight of the operational, administrative, and financial components of the migrant protection programme portfolio, ensuring compliance with IOM policies, procedures, and donor requirements.

• Regularly update the supervisor on implementation progress across the migrant protection and gender programme portfolio, highlight any gaps, and recommend measures to strengthen delivery.

• Contribute to the preparation and revision of work plans, project budgets, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including tools and processes that promote gender mainstreaming.

• Coordinate the gathering, validation, and analysis of programme data and background information.

• Maintain and update relevant information management systems and social media platforms with information on migrant protection and gender programme activities, including awareness and visibility materials, activity summaries, press releases, and other communication content.

• Ensure programme portfolio reports are prepared and shared on time in line with IOM procedures and donor reporting requirements.

• Maintain effective coordination with donors, implementing and other partners, United Nations (UN) agencies, government authorities, local stakeholders, and relevant counterparts.

• Support the design, organisation, and delivery of capacity-building initiatives for IOM personnel, government and civil society partners, implementing partners, and communities.

• Participate in relevant conferences, workshops, working groups, inter-agency coordination meetings, and other professional forums.

• Assist with developing project proposals, concept notes, communication materials, and other programme planning and implementation documents.

• Supervise assigned staff and provide appropriate training, technical support, and guidance to personnel involved in the migrant protection and gender portfolio.

• Undertake official travel as required for project implementation, monitoring missions, assessments, coordination with counterparts, and related activities.

• Carry out other relevant duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

• A Master’s degree in Political Science, Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, or a related discipline from an accredited institution; or

• A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above-mentioned fields combined with two years of relevant professional experience.

Experience

• Experience working and coordinating with government authorities, national and international institutions, United Nations agencies, and non-governmental organisations.

• Practical experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking, and other vulnerable populations.

• Previous experience with an international humanitarian organisation, government institution, or non-governmental organisation in a multicultural environment is an advantage.

Skills

• Sound understanding of migrant protection and gender mainstreaming.

• Knowledge of Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) tools and methodologies.

• Understanding of donor programme implementation and reporting requirements.

• Strong analytical abilities and written communication skills.

• Strong stakeholder engagement, coordination, and partnership development skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and information management systems.
