Project Coordinator – Solar PV
Role Overview
The Project Coordinator will oversee the technical planning, coordination, and delivery of residential solar PV projects from design through commissioning and handover. The role ensures projects meet engineering standards, regulatory requirements, quality expectations, and agreed timelines while coordinating communication between clients, internal departments, and site teams.
Technical Responsibilities
Coordinate residential solar PV projects from finalized design through installation, commissioning, and handover.
Review technical drawings, system layouts, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and bills of quantities (BOQs) alongside engineering teams.
Carry out technical site assessments covering structural suitability, electrical readiness, shading conditions, and installation limitations.
Assist with system sizing, equipment selection, and configuration checks based on customer requirements and applicable regulations.
Coordinate installation schedules and ensure work is completed according to approved technical designs and specifications.
Monitor installation quality, site safety, and compliance with relevant engineering standards.
Coordinate the investigation and resolution of technical problems encountered during installation and commissioning.
Oversee inverter configuration, grid synchronization, and system performance testing.
Liaise with relevant authorities and utility providers regarding approvals, inspections, and grid connection requirements.
Ensure as-built drawings, commissioning reports, compliance documentation, and other technical records are properly completed and maintained.
Support Operations and Maintenance activities, including performance monitoring and preventive maintenance planning.
Coordinate with procurement teams to confirm equipment compatibility and availability.
Work with Sales and Business Development teams to assess technical feasibility before projects are finalized.
Skills and Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
3–5+ years of experience in solar PV project coordination, installation, or technical operations, preferably involving residential projects.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, components, and installation procedures.
Ability to understand and interpret electrical drawings, SLDs, and technical layouts.
Knowledge of grid-connected residential solar requirements, standards, and authority regulations.
Experience with inverter configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Basic knowledge of structural and electrical safety requirements.
Familiarity with project tracking platforms and technical documentation systems.
