IT Project Manager
About the Role
The IT Project Manager will oversee the planning and delivery of technology projects, ensuring they are completed within approved timelines, budgets, and quality expectations. The role involves managing resources, coordinating teams and stakeholders, monitoring project performance, and supporting technology initiatives across infrastructure, applications, cloud, and digital transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Implement IT Project Office procedures, methodologies, standards, and best practices to support successful project delivery.
Coordinate the distribution and utilisation of resources across multiple IT projects to maximise efficiency.
Develop project schedules, timelines, and milestones using project management platforms such as Monday.com, Jira, or similar tools.
Track project progress, performance, costs, risks, and key performance indicators, providing regular reports and presentations to support management decisions.
Prepare project documentation, including requirements, proposals, progress updates, and other relevant reports.
Work closely with stakeholders to control changes in project scope and identify emerging risks or potential crises, developing appropriate contingency measures.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal teams, external clients, and other stakeholders.
Lead project teams by assigning responsibilities, monitoring performance, resolving conflicts, and promoting accountability.
Coordinate the implementation and integration of new and existing applications, infrastructure initiatives, and digital transformation projects.
Engage relevant stakeholders throughout project implementation, assess risks, coordinate support, and facilitate training to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies.
Conduct project reviews and post-implementation assessments to identify lessons learned and recommend improvements for future projects.
Manage project budgets and monitor expenditure to ensure technology initiatives remain within approved financial limits and deliver value to the organisation.
Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining delivery standards and business alignment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
PRINCE2, Agile, PMP, or another recognised project management certification is an added advantage.
Experience
At least 7 years of professional experience in project management.
Demonstrated project management experience within the IT sector is essential.
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, processes, and best practices.
Experience managing project teams, resources, and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Practical experience using project management platforms such as Monday.com, Microsoft Project, and/or Jira.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Strong organisational skills with close attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
Core Skills
Strong analytical, monitoring, and reporting capabilities.
Sound technical understanding, with exposure to or practical experience in IT infrastructure, software development, cloud platforms, and web technologies.
Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing project challenges.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with senior executives and C-suite leaders.
Strong planning, coordination, and multitasking abilities.
Demonstrated ability to manage several IT projects concurrently while maintaining focus on deadlines, quality, and business objectives.
