Physician – Internal Medicine
Job Summary
Provide clinical leadership, governance, and quality patient care within the Clinical Medicine Department. The role involves outpatient and inpatient care, multidisciplinary collaboration, continuous professional development, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct physician outpatient clinics and attend to walk-in and referred patients.
Review patients requiring physician assessment in line with hospital procedures and relevant treatment guidelines.
Conduct timely ward rounds and reviews for internal medicine patients.
Document patient histories, examinations, investigations, diagnoses, and management plans accurately.
Order and interpret appropriate investigations and communicate results and treatment plans to patients and their next of kin.
Facilitate patient admissions, obtain necessary consents, and manage discharges.
Counsel patients and families on treatment, compliance, and shared decision-making.
Perform authorized clinical procedures and surgical interventions within licensed privileges.
Conduct family conferences in accordance with hospital procedures.
Participate in morbidity and mortality reviews, incident reporting, root cause analysis, and quality improvement initiatives.
Review and improve departmental standard operating procedures.
Facilitate continuous medical education, mentorship, and skills development for colleagues.
Acquire and implement new skills and best practices.
Promote teamwork and maintain a positive professional attitude.
Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
Promote patient satisfaction through quality care, effective communication, feedback, follow-up, and service improvement.
Support outreach activities and contribute to expanding the quality and range of services offered.
Support revenue cycle management through timely pre-authorizations, billing, and completion of claims documentation.
Maintain awareness of applicable credit limits.
Adhere to corporate governance policies and procedures.
Prevent, identify, and report suspected fraud or other criminal activities.
Review and implement audit recommendations in a timely manner.
Maintain knowledge of hospital policies, procedures, and systems.
Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience
Specialist recognition in Internal Medicine.
Master's degree in Internal Medicine.
Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery.
Fellowship in Cardiology, Endocrinology, Nephrology, or a related specialty.
At least 5 years of experience in a related position.
