About this role
Laptop Sales & Customer Experience Specialist
This is more than a conventional sales position. You’ll meet customers in their communities, understand what they need a laptop to help them accomplish, demonstrate the device in a practical way, and stay involved after the sale to help them get value from it.
The role is field-based and combines consultative selling, product demonstrations, customer onboarding, financing support, and after-sales engagement.
Where you’ll make an impact
Your work will begin with finding potential customers. You’ll build your pipeline through door-to-door outreach, community activities, demonstration events, and referrals.
Once you connect with a prospective customer, the focus shifts from simply selling a device to understanding their needs.
You’ll:
Demonstrate the laptop, Endless OS, available content, and relevant applications in a way that connects with the customer's requirements.
Explain available financing options and help customers work through concerns around price, compatibility, warranty, or support.
Recommend an appropriate financing plan based on the customer’s situation.
Guide customers through KYC, identity verification, and PayGo financing enrolment in accordance with company requirements.
Activate and configure devices before or during customer onboarding.
Provide practical first-use guidance so customers can confidently operate Endless OS and understand PayGo.
Follow up with customers after delivery and at important stages of their ownership journey.
Continue providing guidance and support to encourage product adoption and successful repayment.
Making the field operation work
You’ll be responsible for managing your own daily activity effectively. That means planning routes, prioritizing qualified prospects, and making the best use of your time across the assigned territory.
Every interaction matters. Customer contacts, demonstrations, and completed sales must be recorded in the CRM so the wider team has clear visibility of the sales pipeline.
You’ll also take part in team huddles and training sessions and will be expected to properly safeguard company-provided demonstration equipment and sales tools.
How performance will be measured
Success in this role will be reflected through:
The quality and progression of your lead pipeline.
Conversion from prospective customers to sales.
Achievement of sales targets.
Credit and collections performance.
Consistent customer engagement following purchase.
What you’ll need
2–4 years of experience in field-based, customer-facing sales.
Previous sales experience with laptops, computers, smartphones, consumer electronics, or software is strongly preferred.
Experience in education, training, or coaching is an advantage, particularly where you have helped people learn a new product, tool, or process.
A consultative sales approach, with the ability to build trust, identify customer needs, demonstrate solutions, handle objections, and close sales.
Exposure to instalment or PayGo financing, KYC procedures, or credit assessment would be useful.
Good digital skills and confidence using CRM platforms and mobile sales applications.
A personal smartphone.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including visiting customers at home and conducting demonstrations within communities.
The right person for the role
You’ll thrive here if you’re comfortable taking the conversation to the customer rather than waiting for customers to come to you.
You should be persuasive without being pushy, confident enough to demonstrate technology to people with different levels of digital experience, and patient enough to remain involved after the sale.
Experience with consumer technology will help, but the bigger requirement is the ability to turn a product demonstration into genuine customer confidence and long-term adoption.
