Sales Interns – 2 Positions
Reports To: Business Development / Operations Team
Job Summary
We are seeking two energetic, hardworking, and motivated Sales Interns to support our business development and customer acquisition efforts. The successful candidates will spend significant time in the field, travelling to different locations, engaging prospective customers, and developing practical experience in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Field Sales and Lead Generation
Travel to various towns and locations within Nairobi and its surrounding areas using a company-approved motorbike.
Identify prospective customers and potential business opportunities for Ourfundi.
Visit real estate firms, property management companies, schools, offices, institutions, residential developments, and other potential clients.
Introduce Ourfundi’s services to prospective customers and distribute company profiles, brochures, and other marketing materials.
Identify relevant decision-makers and obtain accurate contact details for future engagement.
Generate qualified leads and refer them to the Business Development team for further follow-up.
Market Mapping and Prospecting
Research businesses, institutions, residential estates, and developments that may need maintenance and repair services.
Identify construction projects, housing developments, schools, offices, and commercial properties that could become potential Ourfundi customers.
Keep an updated record of prospects and opportunities visited.
Collect basic prospect information, including contact persons, telephone numbers, locations, and potential maintenance requirements.
Business Development Support
Collaborate with the Business Development team in carrying out customer acquisition initiatives.
Assist with delivering tenders, quotations, company profiles, proposals, and other business documents to clients and organizations when required.
Support prospect follow-ups and assist in progressing leads into potential business opportunities.
Take part in sales meetings, field visits, and other business development activities.
Marketing and Brand Promotion
Distribute Ourfundi flyers, brochures, and other promotional materials to targeted prospects.
Create awareness of Ourfundi’s maintenance and repair services.
Provide feedback concerning customer reactions, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
Identify opportunities for improving Ourfundi’s visibility and expanding its customer base.
Reporting and Planning
Submit a weekly field activity report covering:
Locations visited.
Companies and institutions visited.
Contact persons identified.
Leads generated.
Documents and promotional materials distributed.
Customer feedback received.
Opportunities identified.
Challenges encountered.
Prepare a weekly activity plan indicating the locations, organizations, and prospects to be visited during the following week.
Keep complete and accurate records of all field activities.
Teamwork and Learning
Work collaboratively with the Business Development, Operations, and Technical teams.
Develop an understanding of Ourfundi’s services, sales procedures, and customer needs.
Participate in company training and coaching sessions.
Undertake other reasonable business development assignments provided by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
Be aged between 21 and 25 years.
Hold a Certificate in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, Business Development, or a related discipline.
Be confident and competent in riding a motorbike.
Possess a valid motorcycle riding licence. This is a mandatory requirement.
Be willing and able to travel extensively within Nairobi and to locations outside Nairobi when necessary.
Be energetic, proactive, and comfortable initiating conversations with prospective customers.
Have good communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate willingness to learn and accept guidance from the team.
Be organized and capable of preparing weekly reports and activity plans.
Be capable of working independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
Be dependable, punctual, and professional when representing Ourfundi to customers.
Advantageous Skills
Technical knowledge or hands-on experience in any of the following areas will be an added advantage:
Carpentry
Plumbing
Electrical work
Masonry
Painting
Welding
Building maintenance
Construction
Interior works
Candidates with technical skills will have an advantage because they can better understand customer maintenance requirements and communicate those needs accurately to the technical team.
