Key Responsibilities
Manage assigned key accounts or designated geographic markets with the goal of maximizing revenue, meeting individual sales targets and growing market share against competitors.
Identify and pursue prospective clients to expand the hotel’s customer base.
Conduct property inspections for existing and potential clients.
Follow all established Corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Monitor and follow up on tentative reservations and bookings within the assigned markets.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of competing hotels and their offerings.
Develop strong knowledge of the hotel’s facilities, services, products and other relevant operational information.
Ensure contracts are negotiated and completed promptly with assigned clients.
Apply effective contracting and rate negotiation strategies to achieve the best possible revenue yield.
Represent the hotel at trade exhibitions, sales blitzes, workshops and other relevant industry events within assigned markets.
Support the Director of Sales or Director of Sales & Marketing in developing the annual sales action plan and implement agreed activities.
Provide relevant account performance statistics, production data and forecasts to support preparation of the annual sales budget.
Carry out sales activities within the approved expenditure and cost structure.
Keep the OPERA contact database accurate, complete and regularly updated.
Promote cross-selling opportunities for other Kempinski Hotels within the network.
Understand and consistently apply the organization’s Sales Vision in all sales activities.
Comply fully with the Employee Handbook and all hotel policies covering fire safety, hygiene, health and workplace safety.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Must be a Kenyan citizen.
University degree or diploma in Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality or another relevant business-related discipline.
At least two years of experience in a comparable sales position, preferably within a four- or five-star hotel environment.
Ability to work effectively and communicate professionally within a diverse, multinational workplace.
Good computer skills and the ability to use relevant technology and systems required for hotel sales operations.
