Security Systems Engineer

We are looking for a highly capable and experienced Security Systems Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will handle the design, installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of electronic security solutions at client locations.

The role requires practical expertise in CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, structured cabling, barriers, automated gates, turnstiles, bollards, and integrated security systems. The engineer will be responsible for ensuring that security solutions are properly implemented, remain operational, and meet the required technical and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, install, configure, test, and commission CCTV solutions, including IP cameras, NVRs, DVRs, VMS platforms, and related equipment.

• Install and maintain access control equipment such as biometric and card readers, controllers, locks, and sensors.

• Install, configure, and support intrusion detection systems, including control panels, detectors, sirens, and associated devices.

• Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on electronic security systems.

• Investigate and resolve hardware, software, networking, power, and communication-related faults.

• Configure and troubleshoot IP addresses, switches, PoE, VLANs, and other networking equipment used by security systems.

• Conduct site assessments and assist with technical proposals, bills of quantities, and equipment specifications.

• Ensure completed installations follow approved designs, specifications, and applicable industry standards.

• Integrate CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and other security platforms into unified solutions.

• Produce technical documentation such as installation, maintenance, service, and system handover reports.

• Provide clients with technical assistance and training on the use of installed systems.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, ICT, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience installing and maintaining electronic security systems.

• Practical experience working with CCTV and access control systems is essential.

• Strong understanding of IP networking, TCP/IP, PoE, switches, VLANs, and structured cabling.

• Experience with fibre and copper cabling will be an added advantage.

• Ability to understand and work with technical drawings, schematics, and network diagrams.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently, meet set deadlines, and respond effectively to client support needs.
