Application Support / .NET Developer

Job Requirements

• Provide second- and third-level technical support for assigned applications, working closely with the development team and helpdesk to resolve issues efficiently.

• Handle incidents, proactive alerts, change requests, and service requests in line with enterprise architecture, production procedures, frameworks, and applicable Group standards.

• Ensure incidents and service requests are addressed within agreed service-level targets, implementing suitable workarounds where necessary to reduce business disruption and escalating unresolved issues appropriately.

• Maintain regular and professional communication with internal and external customers, providing timely updates and following up on outstanding issues.

• Participate in application enhancement initiatives, troubleshooting, and bug resolution alongside the development team to maintain application reliability and performance.

• Create, update, and maintain accurate knowledge base documentation covering application functionality, troubleshooting procedures, and support processes.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent qualification.

• Strong practical knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming and technologies including C#, REST APIs, .NET Core, and .NET Framework.

• Experience with DevExpress UI components, particularly WinForms and/or WPF.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including complex queries, stored procedures, database troubleshooting, and performance optimisation. Azure SQL experience is an added advantage.

• Practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure and cloud-based application environments, including Azure App Services, Azure Kubernetes Service, and web services.

• Experience with containerised application solutions and modern cloud technologies.

• At least two years of experience in production application support, software development, software engineering, or technical services.

• A minimum of two years of practical experience developing applications using .NET Core.

• Experience working with both relational and NoSQL database technologies.

• Understanding of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes, together with knowledge of ITIL practices. ITIL Foundation certification is advantageous but not compulsory.

• Experience developing or supporting financial applications within supply chain, shipping, logistics, or related business environments is an added advantage.

• Exposure to application development, system integration, testing, and software release processes is beneficial.

• Familiarity with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools and practices is an advantage.

• Working knowledge of Agile development and DevOps approaches.
