Duties and Responsibilities

• Deliver the MYP and Diploma programmes effectively in line with the required curriculum standards.

• Apply a variety of assessment and monitoring methods to evaluate and support student progress.

• Participate in collaborative planning and development of the MYP and Diploma Programme curriculum.

• Establish a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment that promotes effective learning.

• Incorporate the AK Strands into classroom teaching and learning activities.

• Organize, manage, and make effective use of teaching and learning materials and resources.

• Oversee students’ Internal Assessments, Personal Projects, and Extended Essays as required.

• Provide appropriate mentorship, guidance, and pastoral support to promote students’ academic, personal, and social development.

• Contribute to the planning and delivery of enrichment activities and residential learning experiences.

• Communicate students’ academic concerns and progress issues to the relevant Mentor or Head of Year.

• Provide guidance and assistance to non-specialist members of the teaching team where necessary.

• Encourage and inspire students to develop a deeper interest in and understanding of the subject.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution.

• Recognized teaching qualification, Bachelor of Education (BEd), or Master of Education (MEd).

• Previous experience teaching an international curriculum will be an added advantage.

• Must be registered with the Kenya Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
