Art and Design Teacher
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that support the school’s vision and mission.
Work with other teachers to develop effective unit and lesson plans.
Support learners in developing strong knowledge and practical skills, helping them meet learning targets and prepare for future academic or career stages.
Prepare and maintain teaching documents, including unit plans, records of work, course outlines and class analysis reports.
Adapt teaching approaches and activities to accommodate different learner abilities and needs.
Engage learners through a variety of activities such as storytelling, role-playing, number and letter recognition, and other age-appropriate learning exercises.
Display students’ artwork, completed projects and other work to recognize and demonstrate their abilities.
Organize regular educational trips and excursions that give learners opportunities to experience different environments.
Monitor learners’ behavior and support positive development by encouraging self-confidence and promoting appropriate social values.
Provide guidance and support to learners with different learning needs and behavioral challenges.
Monitor and record learners’ academic and overall progress.
Prepare progress reports and communicate learners’ development to parents.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Art and Design, Fine Arts, Visual Arts, or Arts Education with a specialization in Art.
Minimum grade of B- at O-level.
Must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
At least 1–2 years of teaching experience.
Good understanding of the Competency-Based Education (CBE) system.
Ability to teach an additional subject will be an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
